Players:
The Premier Television, Motion Picture & Music Business Directory
Compiled and edited
by Dackeyia Q. Sterling
Award-nominated musician Jeff McMahon is one of the featured artists
interviewed for a new book on the entertainment business entitled Entertainment
Power Players: The Premier Television, Motion Picture & Music Business
Directory.
The book is an exciting new publication designed to provide insight on
all aspects of the entertainment industry. Lavishly illustrated and published
in hardcover, this all-in-one resource directory aspires to educate and
inform both amateurs and professionals interested in the film, television,
and music industries.
McMahon met with Dackeyia Q. Sterling, CEO and publisher of Entertainment
Power Players, at a recent concert in Baltimore, Maryland:
We had spoken at length over the phone, but it was
great to have the opportunity to sit down with Dackeyia in person.
She had just received the first copies of the book, and they were
very impressive. It is such a great tool for anyone interested in
filmmaking, the music business, radio, television. I wish I had
found something like this as a student. I had no idea about how
the industry works…where records come from, how films are
really made. I think the book really provides some perspective on
the different sides of the business: what happens onstage and off,
in front of the camera and behind it, creatively and professionally.
I appreciate that I was asked to make a contribution
to the project, and I think all of her hard work has really paid
off.

Aguilera, Elton John, and Celine Dion.
“I was surprised when they asked me for an interview,” said

to somebody struggling to find their way around the music world, I’m
glad to do it.
