Country Musicians Featured In Book To Benefit Animals
Los Angeles Daily News (July 2004)
Jeff McMahon, who plays keyboards in Tim McGraw's
band, The Dancehall Doctors, appears in a new book highlighting the relationship
between country stars and their beloved pets.
That book is Music Row Dogs and Nashville Cats (CMT Books; $18)
and part of the proceeds from it will go to animal rights and rescue organizations
in Nashville. It features 192 pages of photos and interviews with nearly
100 artists, including Dierks Bentley, Trisha Yearwood, and Jay DeMarcus
of Rascal Flatts.
McMahon is seen posing on a vintage Corvette given to him as a gift by McGraw,
with whom he performs at 7:30 tonight at Hyundai Pavilion.
In that photo, he holds a blond Shih Tzu named Boomer on his lap.
The dog is a family pet and lives with McMahon's folks, who rescued it from
an animal shelter near their home in Texas.
