For the Good of Others.

“Service.” I prefer that to “charity.” At the end of the day, that’s what matters. Not what you’ve been given, but what you’ve given back. How you’ve served.

I am fortunate to be able to contribute to a variety of quality causes. These include joining the fight against brain tumors as part of the Tug McGraw Foundation, supporting our troops through the “Shipping Out” effort, and promoting a love of reading for children with the “Book ‘Em” organization.

They hold a special place with me. Perhaps they will with you as well.

    The Tug McGraw Foundation

The mission of the Tug McGraw Foundation is to improve the quality of life for those confronted with brain tumors by raising funds for pioneering research, raising awareness of the disease, and supporting college students who exemplify leadership qualities and the same inspiring “Ya Gotta Believe” spirit that came to be identified with baseball star pitcher Tug McGraw, the Foundation’s founder.

    Shipping Out

Shipping Out is quite simply an effort to remind our soldiers on active duty that they are remembered. We will share stories and photographs from both sides of the world reflecting thoughts and packages sent to our military, and we hope this will inspire others to take a moment and do the same.

    Book 'Em

Book 'em is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire a love of books and reading in all children. Various programs provide volunteer readers to local preschools, Head Start centers, and elementary schools. Book 'em also leads a book collection and distribution campaign in order to provide new books to children of lower income families that might not otherwise have books of their own.
